Adding Pictures to Slides

In the Search for: Search text: box type in the art you might want and click on the Search button. Explore the options.

Click on the clip art item you wish to add to your slide.
Practice moving and resizing the Clip Art. Click once on the item to select it, then drag the handles (boxes at corners and sides) to size the object.
- Minimize PowerPoint. (Click on the little dash button in the upper right corner.)
- Open the Web browser (Internet Explorer).
- Surf the net to find a picture you like. One such website that provides free photos is http://www.freeimages.co.uk/.
- Once you locate a picture you like, move the cursor over the image and hold down the right mouse button until the pop-up menu appears.
- For students who have right click disabled, select the picture by dragging over it while holding down the left mouse button until the photo turns blue. Select Edit>Copy, then return to PowerPoint and select Edit>Paste.
- Select Save Image As from the pop-up menu. Remember where you save it!
- Return to PowerPoint. (Click on the Microsoft PowerPoint button on the Task Bar)
- Go to the slide where you wish to add the picture.
- From the Insert menu, select Picture, then From File ..
- Find the image you saved from the Web and double click on it.
- Resize the image as necessary.
