From the Start menu click on > Programs> Microsoft
Office XP> Microsoft PowerPoint
Begin a new blank presentation. Note the New Presentation
task pane on the right side of your screen shown below. If this screen is
not present, click View>Task Pane. This is one of the many new components
found in PowerPoint that alows you to just point and click to complete tasks.
Under New click on Blank Presentation link.
The initial slide that displays in the center of the screen is a title
slide. This is where you will type in the title and subtitle of your presentation.
The Slide Layout pane is available on the right-side. Scroll through the
pane noting the various options for slide layout.
To add a new bulleted list slide:
Under Text Layouts, select the bulleted list layout.
Click on the pull down list and select Insert New Slide.
Click in the Click to add title area at the top of the slide and type
the text you want to appear at the top of the slide.
Click in the Click to add text area to create a bulleted list
Type in the first list, then hit the enter key to create the first bullet.
Continue adding your list, hitting the enter key after each list to
create the bullet. An example of a bulleted list is shown below:
Notice that the list above has two subpoints. To create a subpoint list
you must have the outline toolbar open shown below. If you do not see
this toolbar, click view on the menu toolbar, then select toolbars. A
list of all the toolbars available in PowerPoint will be listed. A check
beside the toolbar name means that the toolbar is already open in the
program. If a check is not beside outline, click outline to open the toolbar.
To demote a list item, click inside the list you wish to demote, then
click the demote button on the outline toolbar shown below:
